It is our singular mission to ensure that our guests leave with incredible memories that will last a lifetime (and will keep them coming back). We have achieved this through designing carefully thought out experiences that move beyond the ordinary.

Naturally Lion Sands is all about the safari. Guests have the opportunity to view spectacular wildlife while preserving the balance of our “bushveld” in the company of people with an insatiable enthusiasm both for the bush and for the people who come out to visit us. Excitement rides high in discovering an intensely wild yet awe-inspiring adventure every day. The anticipation of rising before dawn to set off through the early morning mists in search of the day’s game is unforgettable and humbling at the same time.

The bush takes on a completely different perspective when you are on foot. Walks generally take place after breakfast and last approximately 1½ to 2 hours, depending on the fitness level of guests. In summer, due to the heat, walks may be incorporated into the morning game drive before heading back to the lodge for breakfast

The Lion Sands Treehouses are the ultimate bush bedrooms. Arrive at sunset to a scrumptious picnic dinner, and spend the hours of dusk fully appreciating the vastness of the bushveld as it transforms from day to night. Slumber directly beneath the Milky Way where you may well lose count of the shooting stars.

We have hosted both intimate and larger safari weddings at Lion Sands, so we know what a memorable setting they are for that special occasion.
