Lodges

The choice of Lodge at Lion Sands is dependent on personal taste and budget.

Our lodges are all situated on the perennial Sabie River, and offer our guests the pinnacle of African contemporary luxury. You choose the best fit, as each is as unique as the guest.

For those who enjoy utter exclusivity with never more than 20 other guests, and the privacy of a personal Villa with deck, lounge and pool, then we recommend Ivory Lodge.

Both Tinga Lodge and Narina Lodge afford exclusive accommodations, with private plunge pools and decks overlooking the Sabie River in the Kruger National Park. The styles of the lodges differ. Narina’s signature feature is its positioning within the trees, while Tinga is bolder in tone and décor.

For those who prefer the company of others in a larger environment, River Lodge is ideal.

Further information on each lodge is listed below.

IVORY LODGE: THE LIMITED EDITION SAFARI

Ivory Lodge has always been the understated jewel in the Lion Sands Game Reserve crown; a place where guests are in awe of her natural & simple beauty enhanced by the breathtaking views over the Sabie River. As travelling trends have changed, so has the style in which they are experienced and the time has come to take her into this new space where conspicuous consumption is giving way to more meaningful, personal and authentic travel experiences.

Each of the Villas takes its name from an indigenous bird. The Fish Eagle was Nick’s favorite and we feel, as in some traditional beliefs, that part of his soul stays with us through these birds found in abundance along the banks of the Sabie River. The Fish Eagle Villa takes pride of place in memory of him

We’ve taken our cue from Mother Nature to create a lodge built ‘of the earth’, with natural materials which will only enhance the surrounding bush environment. The timeless design incorporates steel, wood, thatch, glass, water & sand. A sophisticated mid-century architectural contemporary theme defines the interiors, with bold furniture and edgy décor, ambient lighting, inferences of tribal design and highly textured finishes – all of which combine to make Lion Sands Ivory Lodge an utterly sensory experience.
