Our family welcomes yours!
As a family-owned and -managed operation, we have a personal understanding of family dynamics. Our lodges and hotels provide the space for everyone to come together, and with every comfort and convenience afforded, there is time for the rest to take care of itself. During this pause, our commitment is to creating enriching experiences for your whole family that, shared, reconnect you with yourself, each other and the ‘wonder-fullness’ of life.
We offer a programme of specially-planned children’s activities at each of our safari lodges too, and parents have the option of joining in with their children or taking a little time for themselves. Personal concierges at each of our Cape Town hotels will also gladly assist you with arranging fun-filled family outings. That being said, your family is not restricted to an itinerary and you can arrange your stay around exactly what you feel like doing, or take up opportunities that arise in the moment.
Please note: There are age limits and activity restrictions applicable at each of MORE’s lodges and hotels, however we aim to create as inclusive a family experience as possible.
Age limits, children’s rates and restrictions at each of the MORE properties:
At Lion Sands and Cape Cadogan we accommodate children of 10 years and older, while are Madikwe Safari Lodge and More Quarters we welcome children of all ages. Marataba Safari Lodge accommodates children of 6 years and older, while Marataba Trails Lodge accommodates children of 16 years and older.
At Madikwe Safari Lodge, More Quarters and Marataba Safari Lodge (6 and older only) children of 0-5 years stay free of charge, while children of 6-15 years pay 50% of adult rate when sharing a room with their parents.
At Madikwe Safari Lodge, game drives are not allowed for children under the age of two. A special family safari accommodates children between the ages of two and five, and departs at 11:00 in winter and 10:00 in summer, lasting approximately two hours.
Families are ideally suited to More Quarters in Cape Town. The apartment-style living affords the freedom for kids to be kids, and for adults to relax. Guests have the space to warm their own bottles, cook that favourite Mac ‘n Cheese (or order in), and to spend a quiet evening in adult company post-bedtime.
With so many family friendly experiences in and around Cape Town, the guest relations team at More Quarters is on hand to assist with booking restaurants, outings for children of all ages (including trips to the winelands), to recommend the best beaches for kids and much more.
We offer a babysitting service at all Lodges and at More Quarters. Contact our reservations team for rates.
