Kosher at Marataba allows you to experience safari with ease and peace of mind - so your family can gather, explore and observe together, confident every detail has been thoughtfully considered.

Dedicated Kosher Facilities
At Marataba, kosher is approached with care and respect. Separate preparation and storage areas for meat and dairy are maintained in accordance with kosher principles, with cookware and serviceware reserved exclusively for kosher use. Ingredients, including beverages and in-suite snacks, are sourced from Beth Din-approved suppliers. Specific requests such as Mehadrin Commission meat or Cholov Yisroel dairy can be arranged in advance, allowing you to settle in knowing everything has been prepared with intention.
We understand that observance differs from family to family. Guests may choose to self-supervise meal preparation or arrange full mashgiach supervision. Under the supervised model, a private mashgiach arrives prior to your stay to kasher the kitchen and remains onsite to oversee preparation and service. This flexibility ensures your stay feels both compliant and comfortable - structured, but never rigid.

A Safari That Respects Your Rhythm
Kosher observance continues naturally throughout the safari day. Refreshments served on game drives and on the Miss Mara water safari are sourced in accordance with kosher requirements, and in-suite offerings follow the same standard. Game drive times can be adjusted for Shabbos, including early Friday returns and considered alternatives on Saturday. Here, faith and wilderness move at the same pace.
