Participate in vital rhino protection at Marataba in the Marakele National Park. Work alongside specialist veterinary teams during conservation interventions - fitting tracking collars, collecting samples, and contributing hands-on to safeguarding critically endangered black rhino and near-threatened white rhino populations.

Hands-On Conservation
Interventions occur between April and September when cooler weather protects animal welfare. Your experience focuses on one rhino - assisting specialist veterinary teams with tracking collars, ear-notching, blood and tissue samples, and micro-chipping horns. All procedures conducted under specialised permit, excluding dehorning. After the rhino's blindfold is removed and tranquilliser reversed, you'll understand how your contribution supports ongoing protection for both species in Marakele.
Your Conservation Story
Our Creative Lab Photographic Specialists professionally document your entire experience - photographs and videos delivered via secure digital package at no additional cost. The day ends with a debrief and behind-the-scenes tour of the conservation operations room, revealing how the data you've helped collect directly informs rhino protection strategies. It's about leaving with a genuine understanding of conservation in action.
