How do I get to Cape Cadogan?

Cape Town International Airport is 21km (13 miles) away - approximately 20-30 minutes by road depending on traffic. We can arrange airport transfers at an additional cost. The hotel offers off-street parking (covered parking available at additional cost) if you're driving or hiring a car.

When is the best time to visit Cape Town?

Cape Town is a year-round destination. Summer (December-March) brings hot, dry weather perfect for beaches and outdoor activities. Autumn and winter (May-August) offer cooler temperatures ideal for wine estate visits and fewer crowds. Spring (September-November) marks whale-watching season along the coast. Each season has a distinct appeal.

We offer 29 rooms and suites: Classic Rooms (6 rooms), Luxury Rooms (7 rooms), Superior Luxury Rooms (6 rooms), and Stable Suites (10 suites including family configurations). The Cape Cadogan Residence offers exclusive-use accommodation with three en-suite bedrooms for up to six guests. Children 10+ welcome in hotel rooms; all ages welcome in Stable Suites.

Classic, Luxury, and Superior Luxury Rooms welcome children 10 years and older. Stable Suites accommodate all ages and offer interleading options perfect for multigenerational families. The Cape Cadogan Residence welcomes all ages and provides the most space and privacy for families.

What's the hotel's history?

Cape Cadogan occupies a restored National Monument building from the early 1800s, beautifully renovated in 2022 to blend heritage architecture with contemporary luxury. The interiors feature rich emerald greens, black-and-white details, and gold accents. Contemporary African art from our collaboration with Everard Read gallery enhances the spaces throughout.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

Yes - Upper Union Restaurant accommodates all dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other preferences. Kosher and halaal dining available with advance notice at additional cost. Please advise requirements at booking so our culinary team can prepare accordingly.

Upper Union is a Cape Town dining destination, not just a hotel restaurant. Executive Chef Amori Burger creates globally inspired, seasonal menus with bold flavours designed for family-style sharing. The restaurant has earned significant acclaim: 2025 Eat Out Woolworths One Star, Luxe Restaurant Awards Contemporary Restaurant of the Year, and Culinary Rising Star Award for Chef Amori Burger.
