Game Drives and Bush Walks

Venture out when the bush is most alive - early mornings as predators return from night hunts, late afternoons as animals emerge to drink. Your field guide and tracker work as a team in open safari vehicles (maximum six guests), reading signs and positioning you for intimate encounters.

Bush walks transform everything. Without an engine, senses sharpen - your armed guide reveals spoor, tracks, and intricate connections a vehicle can't capture. It's about understanding that safari isn't just big animals, it's reading how the entire wilderness functions.

Lion Sands offers safari without crowds. With only six guests per vehicle and 12,400 hectares of exclusive traversing, you'll rarely encounter others. Our vehicles feature cushioned bucket seats, waterproof console boxes, blankets, and ponchos for all-weather comfort.

Safari Surprises

Between sightings, surprise stops offer something special - scenic pauses to simply appreciate the moment. Your field guide lays out hot drinks and snacks, perhaps coffee with Amarula Cream or sundowners to celebrate that fantastic sighting. We got to explore the full reserve and see soooo many amazing animals. Lion Sands has a large reserve and because of the two rivers on the reserve, you’re almost guaranteed to see a wide variety of animals.
